Maths Question
If I am buying something for 30p and selling it for 47p what is the formula to know what margin percentage I am making.

On Excel, if the cost is in D2 and the Sale is in E2 - what is the formula.

Help would be much appreciated.

Mr W.

Re: Maths Question
As no doubt everyone on this thread has intoned, your margin here is the difference between buying and selling price, divided by your buying price and multiplied by 100:

(47-30)/30*100

West Ham maths club solves your problems.

By an amazing coincidence, this also works with sqrt(295) + 39i.

Re: Maths Question
Ok..................think of a number between 1-100.

Double it (x2)
Add 27
Divide by 2
Take off the first number you thought of

The answer is 13.5
